As a part of Sun Devil Athletics’ creative team, the Multimedia Coordinator will provide a variety of services, most notably in video creation, editing and motion graphics for any one of our 26 sports. This position primarily focuses on producing content (i.e. player features, hype videos, interviews, videoboard content) for the team’s official athletics website sundevils.com via YouTube and social media platforms. The role will be accountable for, coach and oversee a handful of student workers who support Sun Devil Athletics.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, creative, detail-oriented and results-driven. They will report to the Sr. Director of Brand and Creative Strategy. It is expected that this position will adhere to NCAA and Big 12 rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Salary: $51,000 - $53,000 per year depending on experience.

Essential Duties:

• Proactively produce video content for all digital channels independently as well as collaboratively.

• Serve as videographer for various events as needed, including but not limited to, community/grassroots events, games and events, member/partner events and internal staff events.

• Work closely with ASU Brand, Creative, Game Presentation & Marketing, Sponsorship and administrative/coaching departments to constantly develop new ideas for organic, non-promotional content.

• Develop a high-level of brand expertise about ASU's family of brands and implements the established creative direction and standards into their daily work.

• Develop and produce predetermined & approved Sun Devil Athletic sponsor related content.

• Be a passionate storyteller and utilize digital and social media to create a deeper connection with the fan base. Conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit video content for all 26 varsity sports and Sun Devil Club for official department websites and social channels.

• Conduct interviews to be utilized on digital platforms.

• Assist with postgame press conferences as needed.

• Coordinate archiving and sharing of digital video assets for departmental usage.

• Optimize content for native social media consumption.

• Understand and analyze key metrics to inform content decisions and make changes when necessary.

• Conducts themselves and represents the department in a professional manor at all times

Desired Qualifications:

• Extremely creative with a propensity to push the envelope to new and upcoming trends.

• Experience in non-linear video editing software, preferably Adobe Creative Suite.

• Demonstrated knowledge of video production process: pre-production, producing, direction, shooting and non-linear editing.

• Experience in producing content from start to finish under tight deadlines.

• Experience with motion graphics and animation design software, including Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Demonstrated knowledge of video codes and formats.

• Experience in meeting short deadlines, work in team-oriented and fast-paced environments.

• Experience in setting up and executing solo shoots in a studio and on location.

• Experience in organizational and time management skills.

• Experience working with high profile coaches/athletes a plus.

• The aptitude to keep confidential and sensitive information close.

• Evidence of a winning, team oriented, passionate attitude with a strong sense of urgency.

• Evidence in being a natural storyteller, the ability to create engaging and thoughtful content via different mediums.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Sun Devil Athletics is a plus.

• Experience in motion graphics creation is a plus.

Working Environment:

• Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts

• Ability to have flexible work schedule;  working nights and weekends as needed

• Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

• May be required to travel on occasion.

• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled studio/office setting/on location, subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.

• Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds

• Communicate to perform essential functions.

• Collaborate with other departments to leverage multimedia content to achieve their goals.

• Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop(keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
