Job Description

 ---&amp;nbsp;

An academic tutor will be asked and expected to tutor student-athletes in various courses. All tutoring will take place in the McClendon Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and will range based on student-athlete need and tutor availability. Tutoring sessions will include 1-3 student-athletes and are expected to last 45 minutes.

Job Requirements

**Required Education:** Athletics Tutors must meet the skills requirement below. Must attach transcript reflecting minimum grade requirement or degree earned.

 

**&amp;nbsp;Skills:**

 

- 
Must&amp;nbsp;have earned a B or higher in the specific course or have been award a degree in that area.
- 
Must be capable of tutoring the courses specified.
- 
Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively communicate course material while engaging with our student-athletes in a positive manner.
- 
Must be willing and able to communicate and build relationships with a varied group of students.
- 
Must be willing and able to gain and maintain working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- 
Must be willing and able to adhere to standards of conduct for Athletics Academics Tutorial Staff.

 

**Advertised Physical Requirements:**

 
- Must be able to communicate verbally, hear, and see&amp;nbsp;including color, depth perception and clarity.

 

**Supervision:** None.

 

**Department Preferences:**

 
- Experience working as a tutor for undergraduate or graduate students.
- Experience working with a diverse group of students.
- Working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
