Position Summary

Southern Utah University Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Jumps Coach to lead and develop our horizontal and vertical jumps and multi-event student-athletes within the Track & Field program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping student-athletes succeed in both athletics and academics.

Essential Functions

• Plan and implement training programs for long jump, triple jump, high jump, multi-event athletes and pole vault athletes.

• Provide technical coaching during practices and competitions.

• Assist with recruitment of qualified student-athletes in accordance with university and athletic conference policies.

• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide guidance or referrals as needed.

• Maintain equipment and assist with meet preparation and operations.

• Recruit potential student athletes for the jumping events. Contact, visits, etc.

• Collaborate with the head coach and other staff on team strategy, athlete development, and seasonal planning.

• Uphold the values and standards of the Southern Utah University Athletics Department.

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Knowledge of event-specific training techniques and progressions.

• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

• Ability to travel to all team competitions.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

• Understanding of and commitment to NCAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.

• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level.
