JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in implementing all strength, speed, and conditioning activities for the football team. Assists with on-campus recruiting.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Responsible for key aspects of facility oversight. Performs other duties as assigned.
Coordinating Strength & Conditioning Activities: Reviews daily performance training plan with director and assistant strength and conditioning coaches. Conducts the daily set up and break down of the needed equipment for strength and conditioning sessions. Provides oversight of student intern operations. Facilitates public relations and media promotions for strength and conditioning. Interfaces with Strategic Communications staff on special projects. Creates a positive environment conducive to learning and safety while advancing program goals, eliminating risks, and ensuring compliance with NCAA rules.
20% - Essential - Facility Operations: Ensures facility is properly maintained and addresses maintenance issues that arise. Performs routine inspection of equipment, tracks wear and tear rates, and identifies needed repairs. Oversees and conducts daily cleaning, sanitizing, and equipment placement through facility zone assignments to weight room staff (e.g., student interns). Assists with the management of inventory and surplus of discarded equipment.
20% - Essential - Performance Training: Assists the director and assistant strength coaches with performance training program design for all specific workouts. Provides support with program and athlete evaluations and testing procedures. Tracks performance and key metrics of athletes. Manages and maintains team records and awards.
10% - Essential - Athlete Rehabilitation & Nutrition: Supports the performance team staff with activities related to the rehabilitation of injured athletes. Ensures proper equipment setup and planning are present for rehab activities. Assists the director of applied sciences with the management of prehab activities for athletes. Assists the director of sports nutrition with the delivery of nutritional elements and information to athletes. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Certifications - CPR/First Aid certificate and AED
Work Experience - 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree
Certifications - Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association-Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (CSCCA-SCCC) or National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS)
Work Experience - 3+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
