Job Description:

Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Senior Director of Football Staff. This is 12 month, full-time position. This position reports directly to the Head Football Coach. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

• Oversight of all day-to-day operations for WKU Football and coordinates all team activities, including but not limited to; strength and conditioning, equipment management, compliance, alumni relations, communications and media relations, academic success, enrollment services, video operations, recruiting, player personnel, etc.
• Manages Football state operating budget, as well as foundation budget accounts.
• Oversees all Team Travel Logistics, including but not limited to; securing team busses, charter flights, lodging, meals, itineraries for student-athletes and staff, etc.
• Oversees all Support Staff Departments in Football (Recruiting, Video, Equipment, Player Development). Serves as staff proxy and primary administrative liaison for Head Football Coach.
• Is the liaison for Football with the Athletic Department and University on all football matters to provide efficient and discrete communication to athletic staff personnel, including but not limited to; senior staff, athletic training, academic advising, athletic business office, compliance, equipment, facilities and event management, hilltopper athletic foundation, marketing and promotions, NIL, student-athlete development, ticket office, and hilltopper sports marketing.
• Works directly with the Head Coach on the yearly football calendar and coordinates all activities with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Work directly with the Development Office on Touchdown Club activities and fundraising campaigns.
• Oversees all budgetary and planning aspects of all Summer Football Camps
• Staff liaison to the Football Alumni Association.
• Oversees all logistics for pre-season camp for current student-athletes: (food, lodging, schedule, events).
• Handles all logistics regarding scholarships and transfers within the football program.
• Works directly with the Head Football Coach and Director of Player Personnel on roster management.
• Oversees and coordinates all facility updates and upkeep in Smith Stadium West.
• All other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

• Knowledge and experience in Football.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules regarding recruiting in the sport of Football.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills with individuals and groups.
• Must be a self-motivated person who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be available for weekend work and travel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least five years of NCAA Division I Football experience.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
