Job Summary

The Women's Soccer Coach is responsible for the overall planning, coaching and direction of Drexel's Division I Women's Soccer Program.

Essential Functions

• Teach, coach, train and motivate student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions.
• Prepare and organize training sessions to enhance team performance.
• Foster a culture within the women's soccer program that supports the department mission of personal growth, inclusion, integrity, fiscal responsibility, brand enhancement and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence.
• Ensure that the program complies with all institution, CAA and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Select and successfully recruit student-athletes which meet the needs and growth of the program, department and institution. Create a manage a program that retains, educates and graduates its student-athletes.
• Communicate with all constituents of the program including staff, faculty, students, parents, alumni and friends.
• Establish a strong foundation of alumni support and work to create an alumni board of directors to foster growth of the soccer community through fundraising and engagement.
• Work effectively with administrators, staff and coaches within the department of athletics to operate the program effectively.
• In conjunction with strength and conditioning staff, develop training and conditioning program.
• Manage budget, award scholarships, recommend equipment needs and other administrative responsibilities related to program operations.
• Create a competitive non-conference schedule that supports the growth of the program and the student-athlete experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience coaching and/or playing collegiate soccer.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct the skills and strategies of soccer.
• Proven success of mentoring student-athletes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics in a dynamic university setting.
• NSCAA Premier or Advanced National diploma and/or USSF "A" license or the equivalent.

This position is classified as Exempt. Compensation for this grade can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
