Preparing and maintaining game and practice uniforms; providing laundry and towel service for student athletes; preparing athletic fields and Event Center courts for practices and games.

Required Experience

● Two to four years of general maintenance experience. Emphasis in athletics preferred.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

● Oversees Maintenance of both campuses (athletic facilities):

• General cleaning before and after events.
• Minor repairs.
• Maintain team and coach locker rooms, restrooms, and showers.
• Organizes and manages all campus athletic storage rooms and cupboards.
• General upkeep and cleaning of athletic laundry rooms and equipment manager office.

● Hire and supervise student workers.

● Diagrams out and lines fields by sport to prepare for games and practices.

● Oversees maintenance, repair, and storage of all athletic equipment:

• Assure athlete safety with the proper working order of all equipment.
• Inventories athletic equipment and uniforms.
• Service equipment and tools used each day.
• Reports lost or stolen items.
• Maintains equipment room.
• Maintains all Athletic washers and dryers minus Felix Event Center.
• Launders athletic uniforms.
• Purchase product supplies.
• Sets up Event Center for athletic practices and games.

As needed, attends home athletic contests.

• Coordinate a lead for each contest (students).
• Provide equipment items and emergency repairs.
• Set up on field sound and time clocks.
• Be on call for in-game malfunctions.
• If needed, travel with teams as assigned.

● Provide additional expertise and assistance as requested.

● Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.

● Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.

● Responsible for purchasing paint, laundry detergents, replacement towels, turfus for softball.

● Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

● Knowledge of athletic equipment.

● Good communication skills, written and verbal.

● Organizational skills.

● Able to work independently and plan ahead.

● Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.

● Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor.

● Ability to exercise good judgment and discretionary skills in determining when to act independently and when to consult management prior to acting.

● Self-starter with a positive attitude.

● In agreement with the purpose and goals of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian-based higher education for its students.

● Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

● Follow oral/written instructions.

● Work and communicate effectively with staff, faculty, and students.

Physical Demands

● Able to lift, bend, grasp, reach, lift up to 50 lbs.

● Perform manual tasks requiring moderate strength.

● Stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, climb.

● Able to stand 4-6 hours.

Visual Demands

● Reading, writing notes, and computer monitor.

● Reading catalogs, memoranda, instructions.

● Determining neatness, alignment, cleanliness.

Environment

● Outdoor work in all types of weather.

● Indoor work in controlled temperature environment.

Technologies

● Have some working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

● Proficient in the use of Google Apps.

Compensation

Grade 9: $23.58 to $27.12 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitivebenefits package.
