POSITION SUMMARY:
This full-time, twelve-month position leads the visual storytelling and brand identity efforts for Griffin Athletics. This role will manage the development and execution of high-impact design content across multiple platforms, including digital, print, social media, and in-venue displays. The ideal candidate is passionate about collegiate athletics, brand development, and innovative design strategy. Westminster University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA II) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend home and selective away athletic events to capture photos and video content.
Take individual student-athlete headshots for the athletic department website and media day photos for use in social media posts.
Create a consistent, comprehensive, and engaging social media presence that highlights the university, its desirable setting, the student athletes, and the overall Westminster experience.
Work with the Assistant AD and coaching staffs to maximize the impact of the university social media presence and ensure the goals of all stakeholders are being met.

Manage the social media accounts for all teams.
Seek to grow social media engagement, expand coverage of underrepresented sports, unify messaging and branding, and broaden appeal of Westminster athletics.
Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity for Westminster Athletics across all media and platforms.
Track emerging design trends and technologies to keep Westminster Athletics at the forefront of visual communication.
Collaborate closely with Marketing and Advancement staff to support recruitment, fan engagement, and donor initiatives.
Serve as the primary liaison with University Marketing to ensure athletics brand alignment.
Oversee digital asset management and archive of all creative files and branding elements.
Ensure all designs meet accessibility and compliance standards set by NCAA, RMAC, and Westminster University.
Hire, manage, and mentor student interns and student employees.
Manage the student employee budget.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Schedule outside normal business hours. This position requires an irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and some travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required.
3–5 years of experience in athletic communications, digital marketing, social media management or similar field.
Graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop or InDesign).
Proficiency in content creation across multiple platforms: social media, video, and print.
Experience managing multiple social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok) for an organization or sports team.
Experience developing strategic media campaigns to enhance visibility and fan engagement.
Photography/videography skills, including shooting, editing, and organizing media assets.
Knowledge of NCAA rules.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for coverage.
