Job Description

Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T), a proud NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), is accepting applications for an assistant football coach with a focus on coaching defensive backs.  This position reports to the head football coach. 

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the head football coach in the coordination and supervision of the football program, including planning practices, developing and implementing strategies and techniques, scouting opponents, and recruiting
• Leading, coaching, and supervising the defensive backs
• Effectively communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including prospective student-athletes, their families, coaches, support staff, campus departments, and university administration

• Leading, coaching, and supervising the defensive backs
• Effectively communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including prospective student-athletes, their families, coaches, support staff, campus departments, and university administration
• Actively recruiting student-athletes who align with the academic standards and mission of Missouri S&T, demonstrating a commitment to both athletic and academic excellence
• Contributing positively to a cohesive and enthusiastic coaching staff committed to building a nationally ranked NCAA Division II football program
• Ensuring all responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional, GLVC, and NCAA rules and regulations

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence and demonstrate a strong commitment to student-athlete development, and support the university’s values of integrity, innovation, and inclusion
• Preferred experience will be given to candidates with college coaching at an NCAA Division II football program

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $19.31 hourly.  

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
