Assistant Coach, Men’s and Women’s Tennis

Description

This position will support both the men’s and women’s tennis program. Will have experience in high-performance training of junior, adult or college athletes. Will be able to conduct team training sessions, attend all team-matches, contribute to recruiting efforts, and promote a positive and cohesive team culture. In alignment with the mission, vision, and values of New College of Florida, the Assistant Coach will serve to foster a holistic and developmentally focused student athlete experience

Examples of Duties

• Provides coaching support during team practice sessions Monday-Friday 7:30am-9:30am during 24-week season

• Conducts and/or monitors conditioning sessions

• Travels with and provides coaching to the team in both Fall and Spring competitive contests

• Supports Head Coach towards building a positive team culture

• Delivers motivation, inspiration, and mentorship to student athletes through modeling of leadership qualities

• Supports recruitment of highly qualified prospective student athletes in compliance with NAIA recruiting guidelines

• Assists with administrative tasks including but not limited to equipment and budget management, travel logistics and documentation

• Able to carry equipment including but not limited to hoppers, cases of balls, coolers and bags

• Capable of feeding tennis balls and participating in drills as needed

• Other duties as assigned by Head Coach or VP of Athletics in support of the program or department

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years demonstrated coaching or teaching experience in tennis

• Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

• High School Diploma

• Commitment to attending all scheduled matches

• Irregular hours including early mornings, nights and weekends

• Season dates: 8/25/2025-11/21/2025, 1/26/2026-4/24/2026

• Willing and able to drive a 15-passenger van to matches

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college tennis playing or coaching experience

• Bachelor’s degree
