Description
This position will support both the men’s and women’s tennis program. Will have experience in high-performance training of junior, adult or college athletes. Will be able to conduct team training sessions, attend all team-matches, contribute to recruiting efforts, and promote a positive and cohesive team culture. In alignment with the mission, vision, and values of New College of Florida, the Assistant Coach will serve to foster a holistic and developmentally focused student athlete experience
Examples of Duties
Provides coaching support during team practice sessions Monday-Friday 7:30am-9:30am during 24-week season
Conducts and/or monitors conditioning sessions
Travels with and provides coaching to the team in both Fall and Spring competitive contests
Supports Head Coach towards building a positive team culture
Delivers motivation, inspiration, and mentorship to student athletes through modeling of leadership qualities
Supports recruitment of highly qualified prospective student athletes in compliance with NAIA recruiting guidelines
Assists with administrative tasks including but not limited to equipment and budget management, travel logistics and documentation
Able to carry equipment including but not limited to hoppers, cases of balls, coolers and bags
Capable of feeding tennis balls and participating in drills as needed
Other duties as assigned by Head Coach or VP of Athletics in support of the program or department

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years demonstrated coaching or teaching experience in tennis
Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
High School Diploma
Commitment to attending all scheduled matches
Irregular hours including early mornings, nights and weekends
Season dates: 8/25/2025-11/21/2025, 1/26/2026-4/24/2026
Willing and able to drive a 15-passenger van to matches
Preferred Qualifications
Previous college tennis playing or coaching experience
Bachelor’s degree
