What we want
The Assistant Athletics Director for 12th Man Creative serves as the strategic leader for all creative and digital initiatives within Texas A&M Athletics. This individual will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for social media, graphic design, photography, creative video, the official athletics website, and the mobile app. The role is charged with growing fan engagement, enhancing brand visibility, and contributing to revenue-generating efforts through innovative content and storytelling across digital platforms. This leader plays a pivotal role in defining and evolving the Texas A&M Athletics brand in the digital space.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years (4) of experience in professional sports or NCAA Division I athletics within the digital/social/creative space
Experience managing social media accounts for a sports organization
Managerial experience leading a team of creatives
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with emphasis in marketing, sports management, journalism, communications or related field
7+ years of experience working in the digital and social media sector
2+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Superior knowledge of NCAA rules. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
Define and uphold the creative vision and visual identity of Texas A&M Athletics.
Lead the development of compelling storytelling, visuals, and content that strengthens brand, elevates Texas A&M Athletics’ national profile, and deepens emotional connection with the 12th Man.
Monitor industry trends and adapt strategy to remain on the cutting edge of collegiate athletics.
Program Management
Direct and manage the 12th Man Creative team across all functional areas: social media, graphic design, photography, creative video, official athletics website and mobile app.
Lead regular team meetings to align strategy, timelines, and creative output.
Serve as a member of the External Relations leadership team, collaborating closely with unit leaders of Marketing, Communications, 12th Man Productions, Licensing and Branding, and Ticketing.
Photography & Multimedia Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy across all platforms, including X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging channels.
Ensure consistency of voice and visual identity across all accounts and platforms.
Establish a strategic plan for how photography supports all facets of the department—social media, brand, fan engagement, recruiting, historical archiving etc.
Guide the integration of creative content into marketing campaigns, NIL activations, ticket sales efforts, sponsorship assets, and in-venue presentations.
Projects
- Oversee and assists with all departmental projects as needed.
Compliance
- Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.
