Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Head tennis coach will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of the women’s tennis program, to include caching the team; planning, organizing, and supervising team practices; actively identifying, evaluating, and recruiting student-athletes; and working within the NCAA, CIAA, and departmental guidelines. The incumbent will demonstrate a strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes by monitoring and actively encouraging participants to succeed academically and represent the university with the leadership and integrity, both on and off the court.

Description of Work

Head tennis coach will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of the women’s tennis program, to include caching the team; planning, organizing, and supervising team practices; actively identifying, evaluating, and recruiting student-athletes; and working within the NCAA, CIAA, and departmental guidelines. Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position

Considerable knowledge of fitness concepts and techniques, NCAA rules and regulations, and scoring. Familiarity with recruiting and student-athlete concerns. Effective interpersonal and communication skills(oral and written). Ability to work with diverse populations, as part of a team, an collaborate with others. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
