Graduate Assistant – Athletic Communications
The University of Evansville, a proud member of the Missouri Valley Conference, invites applications for a Part-Time Graduate Assistant position in Athletic Communications. This individual will serve as the primary media relations contact for multiple NCAA Division I athletic programs and play a vital role in promoting the visibility and branding of UE Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary strategic communications contact for assigned sports, handling media relations, game notes, statistics, press releases, and post-game coverage.
- Develop engaging and innovative content for use across multiple platforms, including social media, GoPurpleAces.com, and video productions.
- Build strong working relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and internal departments to generate compelling storytelling opportunities.
- Manage media requests, coordinate interviews, and serve as on-site lead for game-day communications and media operations.
- Maintain updated bios, rosters, statistics, records, and historical archives for assigned programs.
- Contribute to department-wide communications efforts, including postseason coverage, major announcements, and special initiatives.
- Collaborate with the MVC and NCAA for reporting, award nominations, and statistical accuracy.
- Support community engagement, ticket sales, and recruiting strategies through integrated communications efforts.
- Assist with coverage of additional sports as needed.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Admission and continued enrollment in a University of Evansville graduate program is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of sports and collegiate athletics.
- Proficiency with computers and software related to publishing, statistics, and website content (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, or similar programs).
