Job Summary

 

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant, Athletic Administration, Social Media, & Promotions on the Dahlonega campus. This position will assist with athletic communications and broadcasts for the Athletic Department.

Responsibilities

 

• Serve in a leadership role on the Nighthawk Sports Network to help enhance the department's broadcast by creating on-air content, scheduling, and assisting in set-up and production. 
• Assist in the historical archives (rosters, statistics, records) for all 13 intercollegiate sports. 
• Write and edit various communications materials, such as student-athlete bios, press releases, and/or feature stories for the department's website. 
• Collaborate with External Operations team to generate content ideas for various platforms such as the Nighthawk Sports Network, social media, and website.
• Assist in the scheduling, training, and leading of the student work staff on game days.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications, Athletics. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is recommended.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications

 

• Must currently have, or will obtain by the start date a Bachelor's Degree. 
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate credit hours by start date.
• Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Former NCAA athlete or experience in college athletics is preferred.  
• Previous experience working with video streaming, new media platform and event planning preferred.
