POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a General Manager for the Men’s Basketball program reporting to the Head Coach. This is a non-coaching position which will coordinate all recruiting aspects of the Men’s Basketball program.
- Execute the direction given by Head Coach on recruiting, roster management, salary cap management, paying structures and fundraising for program
- Initiate and create Recruiting Evaluations of high school and transfer portal student-athletes
- Spearhead and organize fundraising efforts for Men’s basketball
- Build Men’s Basketball Network of supporters, donors and commercial support
- Liaison for Men’s basketball to NIL networks
- Organize and directly lead all negotiations and contract interactions
- Assist in all Recruiting efforts deemed by the Head Coach
- Build network of agent/agency contacts
- Oversee all game scheduling
- Share and implement Head Coach’s vision for program success.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
