Job Summary

Full-time position reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Primary responsibilities are to assist the Head Coach and staff in all aspects of the Division I programming, including but not limited to, teaching student athletes how to perform basketball, assisting with player personnel, directing graduate assistants and managers, managing travel and business operations, leading and instructing in small group practice activities, organizing and executing men’s Basketball activities related to team, office, and staff operations. Supervise personnel responsible for supporting the men’s basketball team at home and away games, including graduate assistants and managers. Also applies to practices and other scheduled events. Plans, organizes, and directs basketball camps and coaching clinics, includes scheduling and facilities management. This position will also assist in the Head Coach organization, administration, and promotion of the program.

Duties/Responsibilities

Assisting with any or all of the following duties assigned by Head Coach:

• Instructing and coaching players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Leading individual and small group practice activities/exercises focused on skill development as directed by the Head Coach
• Assess player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of students
• Plans, coordinates, and facilitates basketball event operations and game management duties under the direction of the head coach
• Assist with coordinating team travel, logistics, and expense reporting
• Serve as director and coordinates summer camps, coaches clinics, and programs
• Coordinate facilities for game and practice sessions
• Assist head coach in management of work calendar
• Oversee organization and updating offensive & defensive playbook
• Remain compliant with the University, NCAA, and ASUN

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations
• Knowledge of basketball
• General understanding of technology applicable.
• Downloading and uploading game film
• Ability to lead, guide and direct graduate assistants, interns and student-athletes
• Willingness to form relationships with constituents/alumni and help fundraise
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Event management experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

1. Minimum Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2 years of working experience in Athletics

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to physically perform essential job duties or have special accommodations arranged in advance
• Work Conditions: Long Hours During Season; Office, Travel in Season
