| Job Description Summary |
Intercollegiate athletics are an essential component of the educational experience at Eastern Oregon University (EOU). The Co-Director of Sports Information plays a key role in advancing the mission, goals, and objectives of the University and the Department of Athletics. The department promotes core values that foster academic excellence, athletic achievement, and community engagement through meaningful relationships and opportunities.
The Co-Director of Sports Information supports student-athletes, athletic programs, and the Division of Athletics by producing and managing all press and communications materials with accuracy, professionalism, and care. All materials are expected to reflect and uphold EOU and Athletics core values. This position is also responsible for ensuring the successful operation of all home athletic events, including staffing and event coverage.
Additionally, the Co-Director of Sports Information ensures full compliance with Eastern Oregon University, Cascade/Frontier Conference, and NAIA policies, procedures, and deadlines. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics.

| Responsibilities |
This position will be responsible for the following outcomes:
Publication Development – Assist in promoting EOU Athletics through high-quality print, digital, and video publications that align with the university’s mission, core values, and branding standards. Ensure excellence, accuracy, and AP style compliance across all materials while remaining innovative in design and storytelling. Produce and contribute to media guides, programs, posters, schedules, videos, and special event materials, including recap stories, highlights, season promotions, and feature content. Work effectively across multiple software platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite, Boxout Sports, and Microsoft Office, while meeting all institutional, conference, and NAIA deadlines. Collaborate closely with University Advancement to ensure consistent use of official branding and logos.
Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities – Provide leadership, vision, and organization for the sports information department, supporting the promotion of student-athletes and the successful operation of athletic events. Supervise, train, and evaluate a diverse staff that includes student workers, interns, graduate assistants, and professional staff, ensuring quality performance and effective preparation. Contribute to strategic planning, goal development, and continuous improvement of sports information operations while maintaining strong relationships with coaches and athletic staff. Manage departmental resources, staffing needs, and equipment, maintain oversight of the sports information budget, and ensure fiscal responsibility, transparency, and compliance with institutional policies. Support academic and athletic award submissions, media policies, and departmental assessments to enhance overall effectiveness.
Primary Media Liaison – Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets, with an emphasis on serving the Eastern Oregon region. Communicate athletic schedules, facilitate media access to events, and support coverage needs to ensure positive and consistent exposure for EOU Athletics. Foster partnerships that enhance visibility of teams, student-athletes, and select athletic events while supporting the university’s mission.
Marketing – Support and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote EOU Athletics, student-athletes, and staff achievements through web content, press releases, social media, photography, and video. Ensure accuracy and consistency of student-athlete and staff profiles, oversee award and recognition submissions at the conference and national levels, and assist with Hall of Fame research and promotion. Contribute to the creation of engaging digital content including highlights, hype videos, and feature stories while maintaining proficiency in video production software. Collaborate on promotions, public relations activities, game-day experiences, and social media monitoring to ensure brand alignment, increased attendance, and community engagement.
Event Management – Serve as the lead administrator for home athletic contests, overseeing all game-day operations including staffing, media support, ticketing, promotions, livestreaming, and production setup. Ensure compliance with university cash-handling procedures, conference policies, and NAIA regulations while coordinating with visiting teams, officials, and conference representatives. Develop and implement game-day promotions and operational improvements to enhance fan engagement and efficiency. Establish partnerships with campus and community organizations to enrich the event experience and ensure high-quality photo and video coverage of all home events in coordination with the Co-Director of Sports Information.
Budget – Provide direct oversight and management of the sports information budget.

Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
