Duties and Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with Compliance, Student-Athlete Services, Academics staff to qualify and process prospects in a timely and efficient manner. Promotes and fosters a positive team environment, appropriate behavior and sportsmanship by team members. Be responsible for the conduct of the team members both on and off the track. *
Promotes and maintains an environment where the physical, mental, social and academic well-being of all student-athletes are a priority. *
Participates in sports camps and clinics.
Responsible for performing the duties of a Campus Security Authority as defined by University policy and federal law with regards to the Clery Act. *
Maintain confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawai‘i policies. *
Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department, other college offices and appropriate members of the media, donors and other individuals interested in the sports program. *
Know, recognize and comply with the laws, policies & procedures and rules & regulations governing the University of Hawai’i and its employees and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and of the affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advises the Director of Athletics or designee if there is reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees, students or others, have occurred or will occur. *

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university;
One (1) year of experience coaching pole vault at the college or university level;
Knowledge of women’s track & field as competed at the collegiate level.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
Valid driver’s license.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification by the employment start date.
Computer, cell phone, and social media technology competency.
or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications
Division I women’s track & field coaching experience.
Familiar with the ARMS Compliance Software.
Ability to understand and work effectively in Hawai‘i’s multi-cultural society.
