About This Role:
The primary role of the Production Coordinator is to work with a team to produce all ESPN and Facebook Live productions for Lamar University Athletics and events for Big Red Productions. This includes all aspects of production, including pre-production and post-production duties. The Production Coordinator must be skilled in troubleshooting technical equipment and have a full understanding of various broadcast technologies, and how they work in conjunction with each other, including replay, graphics, and audio. The Production Coordinator may also supervise and train student staff, and part-time employees. Other duties may be assigned.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day duties for athletics video.
- Assist in pre-production, production, and post-production of all live broadcasts.
- Assist in broadcast engineering operations including preventive maintenance of video switchers, video router, communication devices, distribution amplifiers, and all other equipment required to produce a televised broadcast
- Schedule of broadcast operations crew for multiple sports.
- Provide production knowledge during live broadcasts
- Stay current on latest trends within broadcast/production field.
- Assist in the supervision of students and part time staff.
- Work with Associate Director for Athletics AV and Broadcasting to provide a yearly budget request.
- Monitor and maintain all contract and service agreements for services and equipment upkeep
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department head. Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to needs of the university.
Key Competencies:
- Skilled in troubleshooting audio visual and Broadcast equipment
- Skilled in all areas of broadcasting
- Knowledge of video equipment
- Knowledge of graphic production
- Ability to produce video content including shooting and editing
- Ability to supervise student staff required
- Ability to work nights/weekends required
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred
- Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
Job Conditions: Candidate could work in inclement weather, heat and cold.
