Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

| Job Description Summary |
Assist the head coach with comprehensive responsibilities associated with Chapman University’s Football Program. Duties include coaching, teaching, recruiting, fundraising and other duties as assigned in support of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Flexible schedule and some travel may be required. Successful candidate is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Chapman University, the SCIAC conference and NCAA. This position also has additional responsibilities within Chapman University Athletics regarding game management. All other duties as assigned

| Responsibilities |
Serve as the assistant coach to the football program
- The assistant coach is responsible for teaching, coaching and developing skills relative to their sport(s) under the direction of the head coach. Assisting with practice and conditioning student-athletes.
- Assist head coach with the recruiting process, which includes the identification, evaluation, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes, working directly with the Office of Admissions.
- Provide input on daily practice, training and meeting plan to help head coaches implement competitive schedule, coordinate team travel, and maintain compliance with university guidelines (fiscal and academic) and oversee a competitive NCAA intercollegiate schedule. This includes providing safe and responsible travel to and from away competitions.
- Assist Head Coach with fundraising efforts.
Provides support to assigned athletic teams and/or campus operations
- Game Management: Serve as primary on site -rep for assigned sports. Assuming responsibilities related to facility and game management, compliance, equipment operations, internal operations and compliance.
- Serving as coordinator and administrator for student-workers, officials welcome, fan management, visitor baseball and softball.
Provides Ticketing support to University Events Operations Team
- Serve as coordinator, administrator and game day liaison for home football games, working directly with events operations team for ticketing operations.
Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform other duties including but not limited to, teaching classes, and providing CPR/First Aid and emergency response.
- Responsible for collaborating with university units to foster athletic, academic, emotional, physical, and social growth. Working with financial aid, medical services, academic support, judicial affairs, psychological services, student-athletes services, international programs, and compliance. Mandatory Campus Security Authority and Title IX Mandatory Reporters.

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III and SCIAC compliance rules, with the ability to interpret and apply all relevant rules and regulations.
- Sensitivity to understand student-athletes challenges and needs.
- Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and the ability to persuasively articulate the role of athletics in education.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people of diverse background
