The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution’s overall program of education. Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality — the goal being the complete development of the student-athlete.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer is a critical role to the success of the student athletes at Appalachian State University Athletics. This particular role will primarily cover the Softball team. We are seeking professionals who are passionate about supporting student athletes and supporting their success in competition. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prevention, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
• Daily athletic training room operations
• Coverage of events and practices for sports as assigned
• Supervision of athletic training students
• Administrative duties assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being
