ABOUT PROGRAM
SPORTS/DEPARTMENT
Available: Immediately
Duties and Responsibilities: This position is a full-time 12-month full benefits position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The successful candidate is responsible for providing public relations support, marketing, and promotions for the Athletic Department and the University’s varsity sports and rodeo program via traditional media work and social media outlets.
- Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of the University, Great American Conference (GAC), NCAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Direct responsibility for overall and daily operation of Athletic Communications and oversight of riderangersride.com website.
- Create and execute planning and implementation of entire media relations and social media strategies across all platforms.
- Cultivate relationships with local and regional media outlets for the overall promotion of Northwestern Athletics.
- Promotes sports teams, coaches, and student-athletes with an emphasis on a consistent and positive image.
- Responsible for Gameday management with all athletic programs and direct oversight of GA and student assistants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field preferred.
- Experience working in intercollegiate athletics required.
